Marcos greets visitors who went to see Palace Christmas tree, lantern display

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday night surprised visitors who went to see the Christmas tree, and lantern displays in Malacañang.

According to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), Marcos greeted the guests while on his way for a get-together with officials and personnel of the Radio and Television Malacañang.

He arrived in the area at around 8:00 p.m. and warmly greeted the visitors who hailed from nearby cities and provinces such as Cavite and Laguna.

Marcos had invited the public to visit the displays after Marcos Jr. ordered the opening of the Kalayaan grounds in time for the Christmas season.

The Palace gates will be open from December 18 to December 27  from 7 p.m. up to 6 a.m. the next day.

Visitors may enter through Gate 6 and may attend the Simbang Gabi or dawn mass until December 24.

Around 2,116 individuals have seen the Christmas displays and attended the traditional Simbang Gabi at the Malacañang as of December 21, the OPS said. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
