(UPDATE) Court acquits Masbate governor, 2 others in murder of political rival

A Quezon City regional trial court acquitted on Wednesday Masbate Governor Antonio Kho of murder charges after he was accused of masterminding the killing of his political rival, Rep. Lito Espinosa, 16 years ago. Judge Teresa Yadao of Quezon City Regional Trial Court-Branch 181 meted a life sentence on Blas Rosario who was identified by witnesses as the gunman. Also acquitted with Kho are Roberto Pidlaoan and Arnel Quidato. Espinosa was ambushed and killed on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Feb. 28, 1995. - GMANews.TV
