DOH logs 181 new COVID-19 cases; active tally down to 10,074


The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday registered 181 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally dropped to 10,074.

This was the fourth straight day that fewer than 200 cases were reported.

Based on the DOH data, the active tally went down to 10,074 from 10,109 on Wednesday.

The department said the nationwide caseload climbed to 4,072,488, including 3,996,679 recoveries.

The death toll rose to 65,735 with five new fatalities.

The National Capital Region logged the highest number of cases in the past two weeks with 956, followed by Calabarzon with 503, Western Visayas with 257, Central Luzon with 246, and Davao Region with 194.

As of Wednesday, the bed occupancy rate in the country was 18.6%, with 4,951 occupied and 21,736 vacant beds.

There were 10,050 individuals who were tested on Wednesday, and 326 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
