The remains of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Wilma Tezcan arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Turkey on Wednesday.

According to Raffy Tima's report on 24 Oras, Wilma's remains came out of the cargo area of NAIA past seven o'clock in the evening and will be taken to Lucena for her burial.

Also in the flight back to the Philippines is her daughter, Nicole. She was met by her grandfather, William at the NAIA Terminal 3.

Wilma was with her employer in the province of Hatay when the magnitude 7.8 quake hit Turkey while her daughter was in Istanbul.

Nicole said she knew that her mother was near the epicenter. She added that Wilma was still able to talk to her employer after the earthquake, but stopped asking for help after the strong aftershock hit.

Wilma was an OFW for 11 years and was the breadwinner of the family.

Wilma's father, on the other hand, is thankful that somehow his daughter’s body was found and has now been brought back to the country.

Meanwhile, Wilma’s Turkish husband agreed to bring Tezcan home so she could be buried in the Philippines. Her husband could not go with her because she had lost his passport. —Sherilyn Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
