The House of Representatives on Monday adopted House Resolution 802 commending actress Dolly de Leon for winning Best Supporting Actress in Los Angeles Film Critics Association and in Sweden’s Guldbagge Awards for her performance in the movie "Triangle of Sadness", among other international recognitions.

The same House Resolution also recognized de Leon for being the first Filipino to be nominated as Best Supporting Actress in the Golden Globe Awards and  the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

“The said accomplishments of Ms. de Leon have undoubtedly brought honor to our country and established her name as one of the best Filipino actresses of all time, having been recognized for the same movie by three international award-giving bodies,” the Resolution said.

“She is a role model to the entire Philippine arts sector,” the Resolution added.

A copy of the Resolution will be furnished de Leon and another copy be prepared for submission to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines for proper archiving. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
