DOH logs 185 new COVID-19 infections; active cases at 9,290
The Department of Health logged 185 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,078,994.
It is the 12th straight day that more than 100 new daily cases have been reported, according to GMA Integrated News Research, and the fourth straight day that the number has exceeded 150.
On its COVID-19 tracker, the DOH also reported that the tally of active cases has risen to 9,290—the highest total in 16 days.
Independent monitor OCTA Research on Sunday said that the Philippines' positivity rate decreased slightly to 3.3% from 3.4%, and Sunday's tally of 185 new cases falls within its projection for the day.
Total recoveries increased by 147 to 4,003,432, for the 14th straight day of fewer than 200 recoveries added to the total. The death toll increased by seven to 66,272.
The region with the most new cases in the last two weeks is the National Capital Region with 564, followed by the Davao Region with 288; Calabarzon with 233; Soccsksargen with 191; and Northern Mindanao with 167.
Among provinces and cities, Davao City had the most new cases reported in the last 14 days with 133, followed by Davao del Sur with 111; Quezon City with 107; the City of Manila with 106; and Cagayan de Oro City with 97.
COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 15.8%, with 3,932 occupied and 21,016 vacant. — BM, GMA Integrated News
