Marcos vows to provide housing for soldiers, policemen

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed to provide housing for soldiers and policemen, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Tuesday.

“We have begun to craft the program for the housing of the uniformed personnel, the policemen, and the military... We have to develop the concepts further but I’m determined to provide the housing for our uniformed personnel. We will not stop until we're able to do that,” Marcos said.

The president said there is available land for the program and the government has just to work on a scheme to get others onboard.

Marcos issued the remark after his meeting with Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Andres Centino, Human Settlements Secretary Jose Acuzar, and Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla at the Malacañang Palace.

Marcos earlier led site inspections and launched different housing projects in Metro Manila and other provinces.

His administration’s housing program aims to address the housing backlog in the country at more than 6.5 million units, the PCO said. —Richa Noriega/ VAL, GMa Integrated News
