Comelec to raise BEI honoraria to P8,000 to P10,000 in brgy, SK polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will increase the honoraria of teachers who will serve in the electoral boards in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, Comelec chairman George Garcia said on Thursday.

At a news conference, Garcia said the members of the board of election inspectors are supposed to receive P6,000, P5,000, and P4,000 for the BSKE elections. This will be increased to P10,000, P9,000, and P8,000.

If the law is enacted for the convening of a constitutional convention and elections for con-con delegates would be held simultaneous with the BSKE polls, Garcia said the Comelec would push for a P2,000 across-the-board increase in honoraria.
