PCO bares new official logo

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has changed its logo in a bid to efficiently enforce its mandate of delivering information to the public.

The new logo bears the sun, which is also seen in the Philippine flag, the three stars symbolizing Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, a pen or plume which represents communication, and a thunder that exemplifies speedy delivery of news and information.

PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil, a former journalist, has earlier underscored the importance of the agency in communicating to the public the programs of the Marcos administration.

Garafil vowed that under her stint as PCO head, fake news will be abhorred and will never be tolerated.

The PCO will also be spearheading a media literacy campaign to educate the public about misinformation. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA Integrated News
