Sen. Villanueva isolating after positive antigen test

Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva on Sunday announced he is in isolation after testing positive on an antigen test for COVID-19 and while awaiting the results of an RT-PCR test.

In a statement released Sunday evening, Villanueva said he started feeling unwell on Thursday, which he initially thought was due to his knee injury. He took the antigen test on Sunday.

“Sa Senado at bahay lang po ang activities natin this week, but we got infected again. Nag-isolate na po muna tayo while waiting for the results of RT-PCR test. Ingat po tayong lahat please,” he said.

(Our activities for the week were just in the Senate and at home, but we got infected again. I am now isolating while waiting for the results of RT-PCR test. Let us all take care, please.)
