Roy Galido is new commanding general of Philippine Army
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido as the next commanding general of the Philippine Army, the Department of National Defense has announced.
According to the DND, Galido is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1990.
He was a commander of the 6th Infantry Division and the of the Western Mindanao Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
"His extensive experience and well-honed skills resulted in the significant victories of his command against lawless elements, especially in Mindanao," the DND said.
"With Lt. Gen. Galido at the helm, the Philippine Army will undoubtedly and excellently pursue the strategic path set by the commander-in-chief in pursuit of the country’s stability amid the changing security landscape," it added. —NB, GMA Integrated News
