DOH records 132 new COVID-19 cases


A total of 132 new coronavirus infections were recorded on Wednesday, pushing the nationwide caseload to 4,147,101, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

The latest daily tally is slightly higher than Tuesday's 95 cases.

Data from the DOH bulletin showed a slight drop in the active cases with 3,399 and the recovery tally at 4,077,059.

Three new deaths were recorded raising the death toll at 66,643.

The top regions with the most cases in two weeks are National Capital Region with 435, Calabarzon with 282, Central Luzon with 221, Davao Region with 178, and Western Visayas with 141.

Among the cities and provinces, Davao City had the most new cases in the last 14 days with 107, Laguna with 92, Quezon City with 88, Cavite with 88 and Manila with 71.

As of August 8, 4,077 individuals were tested for COVID-19, while 306 testing labs submitted data.

COVID-19 bed occupancy was 14.1%, with 3,346 occupied and 20,302 vacant.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
