Philippines logs 134 new COVID-19 cases
The Philippines recorded 134 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, according to the Department of Health’s (DOH) latest bulletin.
There are 3,393 active cases, while the nationwide caseload is 4,133,933. Total recoveries stood at 4,063,897.
No new deaths were recorded, keeping the death toll at 66,643.
The regions with the highest cases in the past two weeks are National Capital Region (NCR) with 416, Calabarzon with 268, Central Luzon with 214, Davao Region with 172, and Western Visayas with 134.
As of Wednesday, August 9, a total of 3,743 individuals were tested for COVID-19, while 301 testing labs submitted data.
The COVID-19 bed occupancy was 14.3%, with 3,342 occupied and 20,125 vacant.
Meanwhile, the DOH said there are now 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Omicron subvariant EG.5 in the Philippines.
This was indicated in the DOH bio-surveillance report from July 26 to August 1, according to a report on "Balitanghali" on Thursday.
