DepEd: Over 21 million students now enrolled

More than 21 million students have already been enrolled with just a few days to go before the opening of the School Year 2023 to 2024, according to the Department of Education. 

On the last day of enrollment on Saturday, DepEd's Learner Information System showed that a total of 21,029,531 have already been enrolled nationwide, Luisito Santos reported on Super Radyo dzBB. 

Region 4A had the most number of enrolled students with 3,323,943, followed by NCR with 2,437,041 and Region 3 with 2,394,421.

In the previous academic year, there were 28.4 million students enrolled in 44,931 public schools and 12,162 private schools across the country.

The opening of classes for School Year 2023-2024 in all public schools will be on August 29, while some classes in private schools have already started. —Jiselle Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
