NDRRMC: 2 persons reported missing due to Goring, Hanna, Ineng, and Habagat
Two persons were reported missing due to the impact of Tropical Cyclones Goring, Hanna, Ineng, and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday.
In its latest report, the NDRRMC said the missing individuals were reported in Calabarzon and Western Visayas. The information on the missing persons is still for validation.
The death toll due to the recent weather disturbances remained at two, which were reported in Western Visayas and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Three people were also reported injured in Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
State of calamity was declared in Leganes, Pototan, and Oton in Iloilo; Sibalom, San Remigio, and Hamtic in Antique; and Bago, Bacolod, and San Enrique in Negros Occidental.
A total of 907,636 people or 239,581 families were affected by the tropical cyclones and Habagat in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, CAR, and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Of the affected population, 2,603 persons or 722 families were staying in 43 evacuation centers while 725 individuals or 209 families were taking shelter in other places.
A total of 7,813 houses were damaged—7,478 partially and 335 totally—in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and CAR.
Damage to agriculture worth P992,437,269 and to infrastructure worth P905,696,229 were also reported due to the inclement weather.
Power supply interruptions were still reported in three of the 52 affected areas in Western Visayas. Water supply problems were still being experienced in one of the three affected areas in the same region.
The communication line has been restored in one affected area in Ilocos.
Meanwhile, 31 of the 98 affected seaports have yet to resume operations in Cagayan, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas, a total of 22 passengers were still stranded in Western Visayas.
Assistance worth P77,391,823 has been provided to the victims so far, according to the NDRRMC. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
