China naval vessel rescues two Pinoy fishermen in Spratlys —Xinhua
A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) naval vessel has rescued two Filipino fishermen in the Spratly Islands, China's state news agency Xinhua reported on Friday night.
One of the fishermen was reportedly bleeding with wounds inflicted by propeller blades.
Citing the PLA Southern Theater Command Navy and the South China Sea Division of the Chinese Coast Guard, Xinhua said the two Filipino fishermen approached the Chinese vessel Aba to ask for help.
The report said PLA naval medics brought the fisherman on board for treatment.
"PLA naval medics cleansed the fisherman's wounds, stopped the bleeding, and bandaged the wounds," Xinhua said.
"The vessel also provided the fishermen with food and medical supplies, including drinking water, antibiotics and painkillers," it added.
The Chinese crew then transferred the Filipinos "to the Philippine side."
The Chinese Coast Guard has reportedly informed its Philippine counterpart through the communication hotline between the two countries.
