Philippines registers 165 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines confirmed 165 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the country's total cases since the start of the pandemic to 4,118,885.

The Department of Health's COVID-19 tracker also said that active cases decreased by 54 to 2,970, while recoveries rose by 558 cases to 4,049,192.

The death toll remains at 66,723 for the second straight day, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days is the National Capital Region with 860, followed by Calabarzon with 397, Central Luzon with 205, Davao Region with 120, and Central Visayas with 97.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City reported the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 231, followed by Cavite province with 132, Rizal province with 121, Laguna province with 101, and Bulacan province with 97.

COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 16.0%, with 3,196 beds occupied—including 1,932 in the ICU—and 16,736 vacant. — BM, GMA Integrated News
