New COVID-19 cases continue to dip amid BSKE, Undas — DOH


The downtrend of recorded new COVID-19 cases continued from October 30 to November 5, 2023, with infections now below the 1,000 mark, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed Monday.

DOH’s latest bulletin showed that the accumulated cases logged in this covered period decreased to 895 from 1,088 on October 23-29.

The daily case average in the recent week was also 18% lower than the previous one, from 155 to 128.

No COVID-19-related deaths were also recently registered.

There were, however, 12 additional severe and critical cases reported from October 30 to November 5.

A total of 276 COVID-19 severe and critical cases were admitted in hospitals as of Sunday, November 5, which accounted for 9.3% of the total COVID-19 admissions.

There were also 178 intensive care unit (ICU) beds used or 12.3% of the 1,444 beds available. On the other hand, 2,182 or 17.7% of the 12,348 non-ICU COVID-19 beds were occupied. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
