Philippines logs 1,210 new COVID-19 cases in week of Nov. 14-20, 2023

The Philippines recorded 1,210 new COVID-19 cases in the week from November 14 to November 20, 2023, the Department of Health said.

According to GMA Integrated News Research, the total is 7% higher than the 1,132 new cases logged in the previous week and averages out to 173 average daily cases.

Fourteen of the new cases are classified as severe or critical, the highest number in four weeks.

Nine deaths were verified during the past week, with four occurring in the period from November 7 to 20.

Healthcare utilization as of November 17, 2023 is still in the "low risk" zone. 

There are currently 284 severe and critical admissions, 9.5% of total COVID-19 admissions and the highest total in 10 reporting weeks.

ICU bed utilization is at 10.1%, with 164 out of 1,622 ICU beds used, the lowest occupancy rate in 88 reporting weeks, since DOH first started releasing weekly data.

Non-ICU bed utilization is at 16.1%, with 2,184 out of 13,550 non-ICU beds in use. — BM, GMA Integrated News
