Radio anchor Don Manolo Favis dies at 84


Veteran broadcaster Don Manolo Favis passed away on Friday, according to his daughter.

Favis was an established Super Radyo dzBB figure, having been part of the radio station back when it was still known as “Radyo Bisig Bayan.”

In 2016, Favis was awarded a “Walk of Fame Star” at the Eastwood City along with another veteran radio personality Eddie Ilarde.

He was also named one of the 12 Legends of Philippine Radio during the celebration of the 2019 United Nations World Radio Day at the Philippine Senate.

Up until 2020, Favis hosted the radio segment “Dis is Manolo” on dzBB.

According to a Saturday dzBB report, Favis’ wake at the Loyola Memorial Park, Marikina would be opened to the public from Sunday until his internment on Wednesday. — Jiselle Casucian/DVM, GMA Integrated News
