Marcos 'doing well' after testing positive for COVID-19 —Palace
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is "doing well" after testing positive for COVID-19, Malacañang said on Wednesday.
"He is doing well. He has a scheduled teleconference this afternoon," said Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil in a message to reporters.
Marcos was supposed to attend the National Jail Decongestion Summit at the Diamond Hotel in Manila on Wednesday and was instead represented by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
The PCO on Monday announced that Marcos has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be in isolation for five days.
The PCO also said the President remains fit to carry out his duties and will be continuing his scheduled meetings via teleconference.
Marcos also tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2022, just days after his inauguration.
Marcos also caught the COVID-19 virus during the first stages of the pandemic in March 2020.
During his inaugural speech on June 30, 2022, Marcos briefly discussed his COVID-19 experience.
"I was among the first to get COVID; it was not a walk in the park," he had said. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
