The Philippine National Police on Tuesday received bomb threats at six national government agencies in Metro Manila and a public elementary school in Laguna.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said all of them turned out to be false alerts.

“Lahat po iyan ay nirespondehan ng PNP at it turned out na negative naman po lahat,” Fajardo said at a press briefing.

(The PNP has responded to all of these bomb threats and all of them turned out to be negative.)

The government offices that received bomb threats were the following:

Department of Budget and Management

National Economic and Development Authority

National Museum of the Philippines

Department of Labor and Employment

According to Fajardo, the threats were sent through email from a certain “Takahiro Karasawa.”

The other bomb threat was reported at the Pangil Elementary School in Laguna. Pupils and school personnel had to evacuate as authorities inspected the premises.

The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group is already investigating these incidents, according to Fajardo.

Fajardo warned the public against spreading and sharing false bomb threats which are punishable by five years of imprisonment.

The bomb threats came in the wake of the deadly bomb attack at the Dimaporo Gymnasium of Mindanao State University in Marawi City on Sunday.

Police said four people were killed while six of the wounded are in stable condition at the hospital. Thirty-nine people who were hurt in the incident have already been discharged from the hospital.

The PNP identified two suspects as Kadapi Mimbesa or “Engineer” and Arsani Membesa or “Khatab” who are alleged members of the Dawlah Islamiyah - Maute Group.

Aside from them, the police are also looking at two lookouts in the bomb attack. —NB, GMA Integrated News
