PNP won't seal cops' guns during the holidays
The Philippine National Police will not be sealing the guns of its personnel during the holiday season, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said Wednesday.
"Hindi na po natin ite-tape ang mga baril ng mga pulis," said Fajardo at a press briefing.
(We will not put tape on the muzzle of police guns.)
"We will leave it to field commanders and regional directors to make sure na mai-remind with stern warning ang sinumang pulis na gagamit ng baril in any form of revelry ay may kahaharaping mabigat na kaso at baka matanggal sa serbisyo," she stressed.
(We will leave it to field commanders and regional directors to make sure to remind with a stern warning that any police officer who uses a gun in any form of revelry will face serious charges and may be dismissed from service.)
Fajardo noted that no untoward incident happened since last year when the PNP did not seal the guns of police officers.
"Nagsimula na tayong magmonitor ngayong taon (ng cases) pero so far wala pa po tayong narereceive," she said.
