Alleged destab plot vs Marcos admin 'coming from the inside,' says Imee
Senator Imee Marcos on Thursday said she believes the alleged destabilization plot against the administration of her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is "coming from the inside."
Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Senator Marcos said she already discussed the alleged plot with President Marcos, who she said was a bit skeptical about it.
"Nababanggit, pero hindi naman siya masyadong naniniwala, at palagay ko maraming destab pero galing mismo sa loob," Senator Marcos said when asked about discussions of such topic with her brother.
(It was mentioned in one of our talks but he does not believe it. I think these destab plans are all coming from the inside.)
"Nanghihinayang ako na talaga namang ang ayos-ayos na sana kung 'UniTeam.' Wala nang alitan. Ang tapang-tapang ng mga Duterte hindi naman nakikipag-away. Bakit natin ginugulo? Aba'y iba na ang pakay niyan," she went on.
(I feel bad because UniTeam seems to be running smoothly, there is no discord, but they are harassing the Dutertes. I'm sure there is a motive behind that.)
UniTeam was the coalition formed to support the presidential and vice presidential bids of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte, respectively, in the 2022 elections.
GMA News Online has sought Malacañang’s comment on Senator Marcos' statement but it has yet to respond as of posting time.
Senator Marcos, who said she already advised her brother about this matter, cautioned those who are planning moves against the current administration.
"Palagay ko naman hindi puwede ang sistemang ganito. Mabait ang kapatid ko pero mahirap magalit kaya magdahan-dahan sila... Ang brother ko matagal bago magalit kaya ingat," she said.
(This system must not be tolerated. My brother is very understanding but they should tread with caution because he still gets mad when he is already fed up.)
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have dismissed reports of destabilization plots, as claimed in social media posts, against the Marcos administration.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte, father of Vice President Sara Duterte, also refuted claims that he has been secretly meeting with certain police officers, soldiers, and politicians amid rumors of destabilization. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
