PITX to open new routes in 2024

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) will open new routes this year as part of its bid to expand its services for the commuting public.

In a message to GMA News Online on Tuesday, the public transport hub operator said it plans to launch routes going to: Tuguegarao City in Cagayan; San Carlos City in Pangasinan; Dagupan City in Pangasinan; San Pedro, Laguna; Southwoods, Laguna; and, Guimaras, Western Visayas.

Currently, the integrated terminal facilitates 100 routes.

The PITX expects to book a cumulative total of 150 million passengers served this year since it began full operations in 2019.

In a statement, PITX said its projection came after it recorded a total of 127 million passengers from 2019 to 2023 following efforts to improve passenger experience by introducing new routes and partnering with different transport companies.

According to data from the integrated terminal operator, PITX served 18.5 million passengers in 2019, 13.4 million in 2020, 17.3 million in 2021, 38.5 million in 2022, and 39.16 million in 2023.

"We are thrilled to see this milestone come to fruition this year, and we owe it all to our passengers who have put their trust in our services," said PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations head Jason Salvador.

"We are committed to continuously improving our operations and services to provide a safe, convenient, and seamless transport experience for everyone," said Salvador. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
