P2-M worth of kush, cannabis oil found inside vape pens at NAIA

Authorities discovered an estimated P2 million worth of kush and cannabis oil hidden inside 70 vape pens at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

In a report by John Consulta on 24 Oras Weekend on Saturday, the illegal narcotics were found after a K-9 inspection of an abandoned inbound parcel last April 26.

The items inside the packages from the USA and Canada were declared as car seat covers, customized coffee mugs and books. But upon opening the parcels, authorities discovered the kush and cannabis oil hidden inside 70 vape pens.

“We have intercepted five inbound parcels. Na-discover siya upon X-ray screening ng Bureau of Customs. 'Yung elements ng PDEA nag-conduct sila ng K-9 paneling and manual inspection which yielded positive for illegal drugs,”said Police Captain Jennifer Batingal, PNP Aviation Security Group spokesperson.

Authorities said follow-up operations are ongoing to determine the parcels intended recipients.

“Quantity nu'ng parcel is under disposition po ng PDEA laboratory service pa po ng Quezon City. The NAIA-IADITG po is conducting the whereabouts of the consignees of the parcels. —RF, GMA Integrated News
