LTO launches 'Aksyon on the Spot' hotline vs scammers, abusive motorists

Amid increasing online scams, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has set up a hotline that will address complaints, including phishing scams preying on victims with fake traffic violations.

Dubbed as “Aksyon on the Spot”, road users are encouraged to send SMS or text messages to telephone number (0929) 2920865 if they encounter abusive motorists on the road.

In a statement, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the hotline will address phishing scams and abusive and erring motorists by ensuring a prompt response from the government.

(From simple traffic violations to road rage and even the use of wang-wang which is now strictly prohibited by our President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. under the Bagong Pilipinas, our countrymen can expect a quick response from your LTO, from your government.)

He added the LTO will distribute “Aksyon on the Spot” stickers to motorists, especially those renewing their vehicle licenses, to take advantage of the hotline's QR code, which makes it easier and faster to file formal complaints.

(We assure our citizens that any information given to us through our hotline will be considered confidential and protected by the Data Privacy law.)

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it will collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to improve the “Aksyon on the Spot” hotline enforcement and other activities.—RF, GMA Integrated News
