Angat Dam water level rises but still below minimum operating level

Water in Angat Dam slightly increased on Tueday but it remains below the minimum operating level

Water in Angat Dam slightly increased on Tuesday but it remains below the minimum operating level, according to PAGASA.

PAGASA said Angat Dam’s water level went up to 179.94 meters on Tuesday morning from 179.79 meters on Monday.

The dam's minimum operating level is 180 meters.

The water level at Angat Dam dropped below the minimum operating level on May 23.

The National Water Resources Board had said that when Angat Dam’s water level dipped below 180 meters, water releases would be prioritized for municipal use, irrigation use, and river maintenance.

Angat Dam supplies around 90% of the water needs of Metro Manila, Rizal, and portions of Cavite and Bulacan.

Meanwhile, water level at La Mesa, Binga, San Roque, and Pantabangan dams also went up while Ipo, Ambuklao, Magat and Caliraya dams water level decreased.  —Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
