Marcos to perpetrators of OSAEC: PH is absolute worst place for you
''The Philippines is not a safe haven for people who abused and exploit children. This is the absolute worst place for you, and we will make sure you know it.''
This was the stern warning of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. to those who will get involved in Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) cases.
During a sectoral meeting on Wednesday, Marcos ordered the creation of a centralized system for detecting and reporting OSAEC cases using technology and specialized cybercrime mechanisms.
He further tasked all relevant agencies to put the protection of children first as they should be the center of all their programs and policies.
According to Justice Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic Clavano, concerned agencies presented six pillars during the sectoral meeting, which will be the foundation of their efforts against OSAEC.
''We presented him with the six pillars, with an executive order for his study and approval. And hopefully po, kapag na-sign na po iyong EO na iyon, mao-operationalize na po iyong six pillars, iyong aming programa and we can finally eradicate this gruesome crime,'' Clavano said.
(And hopefully, once the EO is signed, the six pillars, our program will be operationalized, and we can finally eradicate this gruesome crime.)
''It’s very hard to think about the children who have gone through the abuse,'' he added. —KG, GMA Integrated News
