OCTA survey: 73% satisfied with PAF performance
A majority of Filipinos are satisfied with the accomplishments of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), according to the latest survey from OCTA Research.
The most recent Tugon ng Masa survey showed that 73% of Filipino adults were satisfied with the PAF’s performance while 75% said they trusted the country’s air force.
“These findings show widespread public trust and approval of the Philippine Air Force. Across regions and demographics, Filipinos recognize the Philippine Air Force's dedication to protecting the country and responding to evolving security challenges across regions and demographics,” OCTA said.
The highest PAF's net satisfaction rating was recorded in Mindanao (+76) followed by Visayas (+74).
“Regarding socioeconomic classes, the Philippine Air Force's net satisfaction rating is lower among adult Filipinos in Class ABC (+50) than those in Classes D and E, which are both at +74,” OCTA said.
The survey also showed that all adult Filipinos in the Cordillera Administrative Region and Negros Island Region are satisfied with the Philippine Air Force, while the lowest ratings were recorded in the Zamboanga Peninsula (+48), followed by CALABARZON (+51) and Central Visayas (+53).
The non-commissioned survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews from November 10 to 16, 2024.
The survey also noted that PAFs’ net trust ratings range from +69 to +80, with the highest net trust rating observed in Visayas.
The correspondents in the E socioeconomic class gave the highest rating with +77.
PAF’s net trust rating scored the highest with +100 in Negros Island Region and Davao Region.
However, CALABARZON (+54) and SOCCSKSARGEN (+55) recorded relatively lower net trust ratings.
“These record-high ratings and strong public support validate the PAF's commitment to being a credible and agile force, responsive to national and regional security needs. They also affirm the Air Force’s essential contributions to sovereignty protection, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and peacebuilding,” Colonel Rifiel Santiago Sotto, acting chief of PAF Public Affairs Office, said in a statement.
“In 2025, the PAF will build on these achievements by further enhancing its capabilities, strengthening community engagement, and upholding transparency and operational excellence to remain a trusted partner in national security and development,” he added.
OCTA Research said the survey has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. Subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following margins of error at a 95% confidence level: ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. —RF/BM, GMA Integrated News
