Pasig court orders transfer of Quiboloy to gov’t hospital

A Pasig City court has ordered the transfer of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy to a government hospital from a private hospital, lawyers said Thursday.

“He was apparently admitted to Medical City over the weekend without any court order, hence today court ordered him to be transferred from Medical City to Pasig General Hospital,” the camp of complainant Amanda told GMA News Online.

According to Glen Juego’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, Atty. Israelito Torreon, Quiboloy’s legal counsel, said the court allowed Quiboloy to stay in a hospital due to pneumonia.

Torreon said Quiboloy was lying on a hospital bed when he attended the hearing earlier through video conference.

In a three-page order, the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 directed the hospital to examine and administer tests to Quiboloy to determine his medical condition and the duration of his confinement.

It ordered the hospital to immediately submit its diagnosis to the court.

Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before the Pasig court.

The Davao City-based religious leader is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and  Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. —RF, GMA Integrated News
