80K moms to receive P350 monthly under expanded 4Ps —DSWD
Around 80,000 mothers with children 0 to 2 years old are expected to benefit from the First 1,000 Days of Life (F1KD) conditional cash grant under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) said.
In a statement, 4Ps National Program Manager Gemma Gabuya said the F1KD program will start in January and stressed that the new cash grant aims to help 4Ps members who are expecting mothers and those with children aged 0 to 2 years.
“Kung ang bata ay nag-aral at healthy, mataas yung kanyang potential na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral at makaahon sa kahirapan in the long term,” Gabuya was quoted as saying.
(If the children are studying and healthy, there is a higher chance that they will finish their studies and exit poverty in the long term.)
According to the DSWD, the 4Ps F1KD cash grant is an additional financial assistance to cover essential health and nutrition expenses during this critical period of a child’s life.
It aims to provide monthly health grants worth P350 to female 4Ps beneficiaries who are pregnant and households that have children from 0 to 2 years old.
The female 4Ps members must pass the conditions set by the DSWD which are aligned with the implementation of Republic Act No. 11148 or the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act and existing protocols set by the Department of Health (DOH).
Among the conditions set are accessing pre-natal services at DOH-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, child birthing or delivery at a DOH-accredited health facility, attending post-natal visits, participating in counseling sessions, and
obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations, among others.
Gabuya reminded the 4Ps beneficiaries to update their data with the DSWD to avail of the F1KD conditional cash grant.
“Itong aming campaign ngayon sa ating mga household beneficiaries, maging masipag sa pag-report at pag-update nila kung sila ay nabuntis at kung sila ay nanganak na para talagang namomonitor natin ang numbers ng beneficiaries,” Gabuya said.
