PH Navy sends contingent to multilateral exercise in Indonesia

The Philippine Navy sent off Naval Task Group 84 last February 8 for the upcoming Multilateral Naval Exercise KOMODO (MNEK) 2025 in Bali, Indonesia from February 16  to 22. 

Marine Brigadier General Edwin E. Amadar led the send-off ceremony at the Naval Operating Base in Subic, Zambales.

The Naval Task Group 84 is spearheaded by Navy Captain Malone B. Agudelo and Navy Captain Glenn Z. Dizon will serve as the exercise director for the Philippine contingent.

The contingent, composed of 175 personnel from different Navy units, will use the BRP Ramon Alcaraz as its key surface component. 

The biennial MNEK will be participated in by 31 countries and divided into three activities: fleet activity, maritime hospitality, and community relations. 

“The Fleet Activity features the International Fleet Review, Subject Matter Expertise Exchange, and Sea Phase. Maritime Hospitality includes the International Maritime Security Symposium and bilateral meetings. The Community Relations include the Medical Civic Action Program, Baby Turtle Release, Coral Planting, and Taekwondo Tournament,” the Navy said in a statement. –Vince Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
