Independent Senate bets kick off Eleksyon 2025 campaigns

Several independent senatorial candidates officially launched their 2025 midterm election campaigns on Tuesday.

Broadcaster Ben Tulfo held a rally in Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City, vowing to push for measures to improve the ease of doing business, expose industry exploitation, hold negligent officials accountable, and protect senior citizens.

Meanwhile, campaign posters for Manibela Chairperson Mar Valbuena appeared on jeepneys along the Paco-Rotonda-Nagtahan route in Manila. Valbuena has pledged to address issues surrounding the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program if elected.

Businessman and farmer Jose Jessie Olivar, despite lacking political machinery and funding, reaffirmed his commitment to the agriculture sector in a Facebook post.

"Walang makinaryang malaki, walang bilyong pondo, pero may isang bagay na hindi matitinag—ang paninindigan para sa mga magsasaka!" Olivar wrote.

(Despite having no big machinery or massive funds, one thing remains steadfast—my commitment to farmers.)

Olivar vowed to fight for farmers' rights, agricultural development, and a government that truly supports them. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
