Veronica "Kitty" Duterte on Tuesday afternoon said that authorities are not allowing her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to get the medical attention he needs after being arrested for crimes against humanity.

In an Instagram story, Kitty shared a photo of her father’s medical certificate signed by a physician, indicating that the 79-year-old former President consulted for follow-up care for diabetes management, following his arrest.

The doctor said that his “glucose level shot up to 328 despite the insulin regimen.”

She advised that Duterte be admitted to a hospital “to avoid acute diabetes complication of DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis).”

Kitty said they were "being illegally detained" at the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base Pasay City.

"They aren’t allowing my dad to seek the medical attention he badly needs,” Kitty said.

GMA News Online sought comment from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and will update this story once it responds.

The Duterte patriarch was reportedly brought to Kalayaan Hall in the Villamor Air Base upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 this morning from Hong Kong.

Malacañang confirmed that Duterte was put under the custody of authorities after getting arrested for crimes against humanity.
