Duterte says his arrest may lead to Sara’s presidency

Former President Rodrigo Duterte said that his arrest may result in his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, winning a possible presidential bid.
“Unang-una, I don't know, but my family, lalo na si Vice President, if bukas mag-presidente yan, eh di waswas tayong lahat dito or on a longer term, kung tatakbo yan, mananalo yan dahil nga sa ginawa niyo tuloy,” Duterte said in a video shared by Duterte’s daughter Kitty on Instagram on Tuesday.
(First of all, I don't know, but my family, especially the vice president, if she runs for president tomorrow, we will all be washed out here or in the longer term; if she runs, she will win because of what you did.)
The video was posted while Duterte was in custody at Villamor Air Base.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Duterte for crimes against humanity in connection with his drug war.
Duterte has questioned the arrest as he pointed out that the Philippines is no longer a member of the ICC.
“Nag-withdraw na tayo. Bakit mo ko dalhin doon sa international body na hindi tayo miyembro?” Duterte said.
(We have withdrawn. Why are you taking me to an international body that we are not a member of?)
"I am reminding not because I want to…I am not berating you actually. I am giving you a lecture na ponder on it seriously because magkakaroon ito ng implication,” he added.

In a press briefing late Tuesday night, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said Interpol Manila received an official copy of the ICC warrant hours before Duterte's arrival from Hong Kong.
Marcos said the arrest was done "because Interpol asked us to do it and we have commitments" and he denied that the arrest of Duterte was a violation of Philippine sovereignty.
