VP Sara travel authority issued by OP — Palace


The travel authority of Vice President Sara Duterte was issued by the Office of the President, according Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro on Wednesday.

“Contrary to the earlier statement, the Office of the President issued a travel authority for the VP Sara as of last night 8PM to travel to the Netherlands, among others,” Castro confirmed to Palace reporters. 

Castro said the travel authority covers March 11 to April 30, 2025. 

“(This covers) Germany, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, March 11 to  April 30,” she said. 

The Vice President left the country on Wednesday morning to fly to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, following the arrest of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.

In a message to reporters, the Office of the Vice President said the younger Duterte departed Manila at approximately 7:40 a.m., via Emirates flight no. EK 337, bound for Amsterdam.

She described her father’s arrest as political persecution, saying that it had no legal basis. —RF, GMA Integrated News
