Palace says Marcos healthy following 'bleeding gums' viral video

Malacañang assured the public that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is in good health following viral footage of what appeared to be his gums bleeding during a speech.

In a message to GMA News Onlineon Thursday, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Attorney Claire Castro said there were no indicators that Marcos is in poor health.

“Nothing to worry po... Kaka-meeting lang po namin kaninang umaga… Wala naman po akong nakikitang hindi maayos ang kalusugan niya,” Castro said.

(There is nothing to worry about… We just had a meeting this morning… I did not see anything that might indicate that there was something wrong with his health.)

The statement followed after a video clip of Marcos during a speech at the Paggunita sa mga Bayani sa Araw ng Kagitingan and the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program ceremony in Quezon City on April 9 went viral.

According to netizens, the President’s gums seem to have gradually started bleeding while he was in mid-speech. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
