Ben Tulfo warns vs ‘maliciously’ edited video of podcast; bets campaign across PH

Senatorial candidate Ben Tulfo on Thursday warned the public against fake news involving a spliced video of his podcast circulating online.

In a Facebook post, Tulfo shared screenshots of the posts that claimed he pitied Mindanao if it were to separate from the Philippines.

The video was uploaded by multiple netizens. One of which had a caption that said, “BEN TULFO tinakot ang taga mindanao (BEN TULFO intimidated the people of Mindanao).”

It also noted that the broadcaster is “Tuta ni BBM (a lackey of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.).”

Tulfo said the podcast was “maliciously” edited and that the full episode is in the file of BITAG Multimedia Network of Ben BITAG Tulfo.

“These are fake news!” Tulfo said.

On the same day, Tulfo campaigned in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay and Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, senatorial candidate Willie Revillame held a motorcade in Navotas.

Independent senatorial candidate Ariel Querubin vowed to prioritize maritime defense following the fishermen’s sentiments regarding Chinese presence in the Philippine seas.

According to a statement on Thursday, Querubin met with fishermen in Masinloc, Zambales who were directly affected by Chinese harassment at the Scarborough Shoal.

During the meeting, Querubin said the government must allocate more resources for the protection of the country’s exclusive economic zone.

“Ang pagpapalakas natin ay para madepensahan natin yung ating mga mangingisda at madepensehan natin itong exclusive economic zone natin,” he said.

“Nabubully tayo kasi mahina yung ating security and defense forces diyan… napabayaan natin yung Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, at BFAR… Ngayon, yan ang gagawin natin. Kapag pinalad tayo na maging Senador,” he added.

He was also endorsed by Zambales Governor Jun Ebdane.

Independent candidate lawyer Angelo de Alban was also endorsed by Malolos City Mayor Agila Natividad after a discussion with local leaders.

Meanwhile, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan senatorial bet Relly Jose Jr. attended the signing of pledge of commitment of the Magna Carta for Seafarers at the Amosup Convention Hall in Manila
