NTC activates Holy Week 2025 public assistance ops
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) activated Friday its nationwide public assistance operations for Holy Week 2025.
In a statement, the NTC said it has ordered regional directors to coordinate with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), civic action groups, and amateur radio groups which will be assisting the public in their respective areas during this period.
By virtue of a memorandum dated April 7, regional directors were instructed to determine the assistance that may be provided to the public, such as the issuance of necessary temporary permits and licenses, "to lend assistance and ensure the safety of our kababayans who will be traveling to various parts of the country."
"The assistance of radio, television and cable TV stations/operators have also been enlisted for the proper and timely dissemination of related information," the NTC said.
NTC regional directors will submit preparatory reports to the Office of the Commissioner including list of participating civic action groups and amateur radio groups, the areas and routes covered, operating frequencies, and contact details of point persons.
They are directed to monitor the operations of the civic action groups and amateur radio groups and submit ongoing and post operation reports to the Office of the Commissioner.
"This annual public service activity organized by the NTC and its Regional Offices aims to ensure the safe travels of Filipino families during their traditional pilgrimage to the provinces during Holy Week," the NTC said. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
