Suspects in Anson Que, Pabillio killings identified
The authorities have identified suspects in the abduction and killing of Anson Que (also known as Anson Tan) and his driver Armanie Pabillo, Philippine National Police chief Police General Rommel Marbil indicated on Friday.
According to Mark Salazar's report on "24 Oras," the Bureau of Immigration has been informed about their identities to prevent them from leaving the country.
"We can arrest some people right now but we can't get the mastermind. We want the mastermind," Marbil said.
The PNP said that the investigation as early as when Que and Pabillo were still missing showed that the incident was more than a case of kidnap-for-ransom.
"We are sharing notes what happened sabi ko nga may malaki kasing twist e. Hanggang doon lang muna ako," Marbil said.
(We have been sharing notes and as I said there is a huge twist. That's all I can say right now.)
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla addressed a newspaper report that a POGO syndicate killed Que because of an unpaid debt.
"We are aware of this theory or this piece of news and we actually have more information about it but we don't want to divulge everything in media we need to operate quietly," Remulla said.
The victims' bodies were found in Rodriguez, Rizal on April 9.
Video showed that the black van they were last seen alive in was left on Seminary Road in Barangay Toro, Quezon City on the night of March 29.
The van was reported abandoned on April 8. –Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/NB, GMA Integrated News
