Marcos scores Russian vlogger Vitaly for 'bullying' Filipinos

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has stood firm that Philippine authorities will not tolerate foreigners, such as Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, bullying Filipinos, committing that they will face appropriate sanctions for their acts.

Marcos said this in a vlog posted on social media on Monday as he reacted to the videos of Zdorovetskiy, seemingly harassing and insulting Filipinos for content.

“Sira ulo rin ito… Hindi naman Pilipino, pwede ko bang murahin?” the President quipped.

(He seems out of his mind… He’s not a Filipino, can I curse him?)

“Nakakalungkot dahil ito’y isang naging bahagi na ng social media, na nagkakaroon ng mga vlogger na nanggugulo lang, nangaasar lang, nambubwisit lang, nangbabastos lang para makakuha ng mga viewers. ‘Wag tayong sasama diyan sa ganyang klaseng ugali,” he added.

(It's sad because this has become a part of social media, wherein vloggers make trouble, insult others, and get into trouble just to get viewers. Let's not follow their footsteps.)

Zdorovetskiy was arrested in a hotel in Pasay City earlier this month after the Bureau of Immigration (BI) issued a Mission Order for Undesirability against him.

He was nabbed for allegedly violating BI operations order on acts or omissions that constitute undesirability of foreign nationals in relation to the Philippine Immigration Act.

When Zdorovetskiy was presented to members of the media, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said that the vlogger will not be deported from the Philippines yet and will remain in a BI facility to face the charges that will be filed against him.

Marcos vowed that authorities will not allow foreigners to continuously harass Filipinos, especially in the country.

“Dapat tayo pumalag sa mga bully. Kasama ninyo ang pamahalaan para ilugar ang mga ganitong tao,” he stressed.
