Sara Duterte appears in political ad anew, backs Marcoleta

Vice President Sara Duterte appeared yet again in another political advertisement now endorsing SAGIP Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, her family's ally in the House of Representatives.

In the 53-second ad posted on Marcoleta's Facebook page Wednesday, Duterte narrated how the congressman defended her office when the House panels launched inquiries into issues concerning the Office of the Vice President.

"Noong pinupuna at tinatakot ang Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo, siya ang tumindig at dumepensa. Hindi alintana ang pambabatikos dahil para kay Marcoleta, ang tama ay pinaglalaban kahit mag-isa ka lang," Duterte said.

(When the Office of the Vice President was being criticized and harassed, he was the one who stood up to defend it. He brushed aside the criticism because for Marcoleta, one should fight for what is right, even when alone.)

Duterte vouched for Marcoleta, saying he is "always on the side of what is right."

Marcoleta is among the senatorial bets that are endorsed by PDP-Laban, the party chaired by Sara's father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Before Marcoleta, Duterte also appeared in a political advertisement with reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos—who investigated the arrest of the former president.

Senator Marcos has questioned how the administration of her brother, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., has handled the elder Duterte's arrest and eventual hand over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands to face charges of crimes and humanity. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
