Nearly 5K patients served so far during Holy Week 2025 —PH Red Cross


Philippine Red Cross provides medical assistance during Holy Week 2025

A total of 4,905 individuals have so far received medical assistance from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) during its nationwide operations for the Holy Week.

Majority or 4,529 of the figure underwent vital signs monitoring, according to PRC’s update of its Holy Week operations as of Black Saturday, April 19, 8 a.m.

At least 354 patients experienced “minor cases,” such as abrasion, abdominal pain, avulsion, bee sting, blister, body pain, body weakness, burn, chest pain, cramps, contusion, difficulty of breathing, dizziness, fainting, headache, hypertension, itchiness, jellyfish sting, laceration, loss of consciousness, nausea, numbness, puncture, scratches, sprain, strain, swelling, vomiting.

Meanwhile, 10 persons suffered “major cases,” which include asthma attack, multiple abrasion, multiple laceration, numbness with dizziness, suspected dislocation.

Moreover, 12 patients were “transported” or transferred to a hospital for acute pain on the forehead and wrist, body weakness, difficulty of breathing, elevated blood pressure, hyperventilation, laceration in the forehead, loss of consciousness.

The PRC said it mobilized 1,840 volunteers and 313 staff in 375 first aid stations located in bus terminals, seaports, airport, mountains, beach, church, gas station, park, school, highway, and arena.

A total of 178 ambulances, 21 service boats, and three rescue boats were deployed during the period. —Ted Cordero/KG, GMA Integrated News
