PHLPost to unveil Carlos Yulo stamps, PH postcards


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is set to launch postcards featuring the beauty and heritage of the Philippines, as well as stamps showing Filipino medalists in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, including two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo, in an exhibition on April 23 to 25.

In a statement, PHLPost, in partnership with the Philippine Philatelic Federation Inc. (PPFI), said it is inviting the public to the National Philatelic Exhibition (NAPEX 2025), a three-day event celebrating and highlighting the hobby of stamp collecting.

It will be held at the Lucky Chinatown Mall Level 1 Atrium in Binondo, Manila.

“Love the Philippines” postcards will be launched on the first day, April 23, while Philippine Medalist Stamps led by Yulo will be unveiled on the second day, April 24.

The Philippine Festivals Stamp will be launched on the third day, April 25.

Activities and programs will start at 2 p.m.

The public can check out the stamp exhibits for free, attend talks, and witness the unveiling of the exclusive stamps.

PHLPost also said 17 stamp collectors will display their priceless collections for competition at the National Stamp Exhibition.

The collectors are the following: Cesar Gulmatico Jr. (1980 World Tourism Conference); Robert Tiu Sy (Ancient Chinese Art Treasures); Ernesto Oscar L. Agcaoili (Selyo, Disenyo); Jasmine Goforth (Come and Visit the City of Davao); Christian Ronel F. Austria (My Teacher, My Hero); Maria Poncesca Lim(Philippine Map on Stamps); Fernando Lozano (Timeless Heroines); Amelie Lopez (Life and Legacy of Cory Aquino); Jewel Vernice Abrenica (Philippine National Heroes); Shane Emarie Lagosa (Tiny Treasures, Big Dreams); Amelie Lopez (Life and Legacy of Cory Aquino);  Zamyra “Mia” Baguio (Antonio Franco & the Afran Stamp Company); Lunesita Breuer (The Evolution of British Postal History); Kim Robert De Leon (God save the Queen); Robert Tiu Sy (The Garden Show;) Enrique Frio (Audobon's Birds on Stamps, FDCs, errors) and Gerson Danseco (Joint Issues).

PHLPost is also working with different stamps organizations through the PPFI such as the Filipinas Stamp Collectors' Club (FSCC), Philippine Stamp Collectors' Society (PSCS), Philippine Chinese Philatelic Society, International Philippine Philatelic Society (IPPS), Leyte Philatelic Society, Naga City Philatelic Society, Cebu Philatelic Society Quezon Philatelic Club, as well as other individuals including Robert Tan, Reynaldo Ong, Hans Becker and Jeremiah Eufemio. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA Integrated News
