PCG logs over 15,000 passengers in ports on April 19, 2025

A total of 15,883 passengers went through various ports nationwide on Black Saturday, April 19, 2025, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In its situation report, the PCG tallied 8,870 outbound passengers and 6,963 inbound passengers in all ports across the country.

“Moreover, 4,857 deployed frontline personnel in 16 PCG Districts have inspected 103 vessels and 38 motorbancas,” the agency said.

The Coast Guard said it has placed its districts, stations, and substations on heightened alert from April 13 to April 20, 2025, to manage the influx of port passengers as the country observes the Lenten season.

“The seafaring public can coordinate with the PCG through its official Facebook page or the Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (0927-560-7729) for inquiries, concerns, and clarifications regarding sea travel protocols and regulations during the Holy Week,” it said. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
