Marcos on Easter Sunday 2025: Let's rise with Christ through action

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Easter Sunday called on the Catholic faithful to rise along with Jesus Christ, not just in belief and prayer, but also through actions that would heal and protect the nation.

In his Easter Sunday message, Marcos said that Jesus’ resurrection is not just a time to celebrate, but a “call to action.”

“[T]o be true pilgrims of hope, it is not enough to say He is risen while leaving others buried—in debt, in hunger, and in silence. If Christ walked out of the tomb, then no one should remain sealed inside theirs,” the President said.

“The risen Christ does not rise alone, He invites us to rise with Him—through policies that heal, through laws that protect, and through governance that leaves no one behind,” he added.

Marcos also urged the people to manifest the strength of their faith with the work of their hands and together, build a nation they aspire to.

“The stone has been rolled away. We are now exposed not just to boundless possibilities, but also to the knowledge that we, too, can make a difference,” he said.

On Instagram, the President also encouraged the nation to rise stronger, kinder, and more united as one Filipino people.

His wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, also highlighted that Easter “is a beautiful reminder that hope always triumphs and light always returns.”

“May this day bring renewal to our hearts and joy to our homes,” the First Lady said in an Instagram post.
