Red Cross treats over 6,300 patients during Holy Week 2025

The Philippine Red Cross has treated almost 6,400 patients across the country during Holy Week 2025 as of Sunday afternoon.

In an advisory, the Red Cross said it has seen 6,397 patients as of 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, from April 12, 2025. Out of the total, 5,928 were for vital signs monitoring.

There were 434 minor cases, and 16 were major cases—asthma, chest pain, loss of consciousness, numbness with dizziness, multiple abrasions, multiple laceration, shortness of breath, suspected dislocation, and seizures.

There were 19 patients transported to the hospital, including individuals that had acute pain on the forehead and wrist, avulsion, a bee sting, epigastric pain, hyperventilation, loss of consciousness, pain forehead, laceration of the forehead, hypertension, body malaise, and multiple abrasions.

There were 1,053 individuals who were catered for welfare assistance, which covers psychological support, tracing, and referral.

The Red Cross mobilized 1,840 volunteers and 313 staff during the period. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
