Comelec to start ballot deployment for Eleksyon 2025

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Monday it is set to start the deployment of the official printed ballots for Eleksyon 2025 on Tuesday, April 22, weeks ahead of the May 12 polls.
Poll chief George Erwin Garcia urged political parties, candidates, civil society groups, and members of the Church to observe the deployment to ensure the safety and integrity of the ballots.
“I-aannounce namin ang mga lugar kung saan mismo darating ang mga balota at kung kailan darating. Sana ang mga political parties, kandidato, civil societies, simbahan, lahat, puwede po sana pakiabangan ninyo ang pagdating ng mga balota sa Treasurer’s Office,” said Garcia.
(We will announce the areas where the ballots will be deployed. We urge political parties, candidates, civil society groups, and members of the church to observe its arrival at the Treasurer’s Office.)
“Allowed kayo na mag-observe…bantayan ninyo po para walang akusasyon na may nawawalang balota,” he added.
(You are allowed to observe. Safeguard it to avoid accusations of missing ballots.)
The official printed ballots for the upcoming polls have been packed and sealed at the Comelec hub in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The deployment will start on April 22 at midnight.
In March, the Comelec finished the printing of over 68 million ballots for the 2025 May polls after the process hit a snag in January following the Supreme Court's (SC) issuance of temporary restraining orders (TROs) against the disqualification of some aspirants for the upcoming elections.
The poll body deputized the National Printing Office in January, allowing the use of the latter's four printing machines and two machines procured by South Korean firm Miru Systems Inc. to ensure the "proper, satisfactory, and timely" completion of the reprinting of the official ballots for the May polls. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
