CAAP announces airport fee hike effective April 21, 2025

Airline passengers will now have to pay a higher service fee in all airports managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

CAAP said the adjusted rates will take effect for flight tickets purchased starting April 21, 2025.

In a memorandum dated April 14, the passenger service charge (PSC) for international flights increased from the present P550 to P900 or $17 per departing passenger.

Meanwhile, the PSC per passenger for domestic flights is P350 for those departing via international airports; P300 for those in principal class 1 airports; P200 for those in principal class 2 airports and P100 for community airports.

“The increase, primarily adjusted based solely on inflation from 2015 to present, underwent the required public hearing with various stakeholders as well as the necessary publication,” the CAAP said in a statement.

Further, CAAP said the increase in PSC is meant for improving passenger experience in the airports under its jurisdiction.

“The adjustment supports CAAP’s efforts to enhance passenger experience and improve airport facilities and operations. The agency is committed to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality aviation services nationwide,” it added.

There are currently six international airports being operated by CAAP. They are located in: Bohol, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, Laoag, and Puerto Princesa.

Meanwhile, there are 34 CAAP-operated principal class 1 and 2 airports. There are also 35 community airports under CAAP management. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated New
